Property type and size

All offers of accommodation via the housing register are made in accordance with the Housing Allocations Scheme. The size and type of property a household accepted onto the housing register will be eligible for depends on their household, see below:

Couple or single parent with 2 dependent children of same sex and both under 16 years old with more than 6 years age gap

2 or 3 bedroom flat (on any floor) or house - 2 bed ground floor properties with gardens are only offered to households with children under 10

Couple or single parent with 2 dependent children of same sex and both over 16 years old

3-bedroom flat (on any floor) or house 

Couple or single parent with 2 dependent children of same sex where one is under 16 and one is over 16

2 or 3 bedroom flat (on any floor) or house - 2 bed ground floor properties with gardens are only offered to households with children under 10

Couple or single parent with 2 dependent children of the opposite sex

2 or 3 bedroom flat (on any floor) or house - 2 bed ground floor properties with gardens are only offered to households with children under 10

Couple or single person with 3 dependent children

3-bedroom flat (on any floor) or house 

Couple or single person with 4 or more dependent children

Property which has a minimum of 3 bedrooms and two reception rooms; or

A property (not a bungalow) which has a minimum of 3 bedrooms and 1 reception room provided that the property is larger than average so that an allocation would not result in occupation of the property exceeding the permitted number of persons

Single or Couple over 60 years old

1 or 2 bedroom sheltered or retirement flats and bungalows
