Crawley Borough Council declared a housing crisis as the demand for housing far outstrips the supply. The wait time for social housing is longer than it has ever been, with many people waiting several years and in some cases much longer to be housed. Please note, submitting a false, misleading, or fraudulent application is a serious offence, and may result in immediate removal from the housing register, termination of a tenancy obtained through deception, legal prosecution (which may result in a criminal record, substantial fine or imprisonment).
Please note changes to the bidding cycles over the holiday period:
Monday 22nd December to Thursday 25th December – No bidding cycle
Monday 29th December to Thursday 1st January – No bidding cycle.
Monday 5th January 2026 to Thursday 8th January 2025 – Normal bidding cycle
